Water is a shape shifter; it can be a solid, liquid, or vapor. Our first home is in the fertile waters of the womb and our bodies consist of 50-70% water. We ride the emotional waves within us our whole lives as water is always moving even when it appears to be still. Within water energy resides our intuition and felt sense knowing. Water is the usher of endings as it purifies and washes away. It is best to surrender to the flow and be nurtured by it and to listen to inner nudges when the tides have shifted.
Water is open hearted and often aligns with the 4th Heart Chakra. Read more about Chakras here.
The Water Element has a special connection to the Moon. The moon impacts us through it’s pull on water: the external water of tides and animal activity of rivers and oceans moves with the moon, it induces more births, impacts menstrual flow, and can create intensity of emotion (more people are arrested or hospitalized for mental health crises on full moons.) The mystery of the Water and Moon make them sisters.
